Flooring calculator

Measure the floor and read the coverage on the box.

Enter your numbers to see the result.

Plank flooring is sold by the box, and every box covers a set number of square feet.

How it works

Boxes = floor area x (1 + extra %) / square feet per box, rounded up.

How much extra?

Straight plank runs in plain rooms need the least. Diagonal layouts, herringbone and rooms with many doorways need more. Keep a box after the job for future repairs.

Before you start

Let flooring acclimate as the maker’s instructions say, and check that every box comes from the same lot.
